Food Bank
During COVID and the subsequent lockdowns suffered over the country of Uganda the mandate to “help the orphans and widows in their time of distress” was a need we couldn't ignore. Digging deeper into our personal resources we established a “food bank” in an unused room adjacent to Pastor Julius and Martha Kintu's apartment.
Together with Pastor Martin and his “boda boda” motorcycle, we were able to circumvent the travel and movement laws and got food to those who were on the brink and without hope. Julius and Martin negotiated bulk supplies on rice, sugar, posho, beans, matches, oil, soap and salt which they assembled house packages in used plastic shopping bags.
Thinking this was only a “one time” event with the initial “two week to flatten the curve” this work has been ongoing for the past 16 months. On the average, we restock the food bank at a cost of $400 USD about every six weeks. You too can help us restock the food bank by making a donation through our PayPal link on the website.
